Mission
The mission of the Live Oak Family Resource Center is to improve
the quality of life and strengthen the individuals and families
of Live Oak while promoting a safe and healthy community.
This is accomplished by:
• Connecting and providing people with resources and services
• Supporting opportunities for personal and cultural exchange
• Helping residents to thrive by helping themselves and each
other
The LOFRC is a friendly place where all people of all cultures feel
welcomed and respected.
Building strong families and a safe and healthy community in the
greater Live Oak area.
Our bilingual staff is ready to help you.
Our community is important to us, and we want Live Oak to be a safe,
fun place for all who live here.
What is a Family Resource Center?
We are a neighborhood and community-based place for families to
come to for all kinds of help, information, sharing, and referrals
to other programs that might be of help. We are part of the Family
Resource Network of Santa Cruz County and the National Alliance
of Family Resource Centers called Family
Support America.
Services are free or on a sliding scale
basis, including:
Education
• Childbirth classes
• Play Groups
• Together in the Park
• Toddlers
• Las Madres y Los Padres (bilingual)
• Life skills for teens and adults
Community Development • Leadership and neighborhood organizing sessions
• Free supper club and activities
• Networking with other Live Oak groups
• Beautification projects
• Live Oak Community Alliance
• Links to other programs and services
